We went to check out the Grand Casino in Hinckely, MN this weekend. I had heard that it was easier to win at this casino than some of the others in Minnesota, but that wasn’t the case for us. It’s just like any other casino, if you play long enough, you are going to loose your money. You can’t expect to do well until you know which slots are good. They had a lot of interesting machines there and I did test a lot of them. But, the slots seemed to be better suited for my girlfriend’s strategy. She plays 3 or 4 spins on a machine at max, then looks for another machine if there is no payback. She hit on a few machines that gave her enough to break even for the day. I am not comfortable with $4 and $5 per spin, so I was using a lower bet and giving the machine more spins. This resulted in lower payouts in the bonus rounds and it was not enough to offset the slots that ate my money. Her results seemed to make sense, but I didn’t realize this until we were ready to leave. My strategy works better at casinos with tighter slots. The buffet was good, but the two hour drive was definitively not worth our time and I don’t think we will be going back there anytime soon. How’s that for a Grand Casino story?
