TVG Racing App Ending?

The writing is on the wall for the TVG Horse Racing app. An email was sent out on 2/26/25 stating that they are moving Money Back Special wagers to Fanduel Racing. The email also encourages TVG users to create an account on Fanduel. I followed the “Join Now” link and clicked on “Already Have A TVG Account?”. A message came up saying: “FanDuel and TVG are two separate accounts. If you don’t have a FanDuel account yet, you can get started here.” I was hoping that the transition would be seamless, but it looks like you have to register as if you were a new customer.

Making loyal TVG customers create a new account is going to make some of them look at other options. Many probably already have an account on another horse wagering app. Why create a new account with a company that is no longer dedicated to horse racing? Sports betting isn’t legal in Minnesota, and I have no interest in the Fanduel online casino. It would have been much better if they would have just moved everyone to the Fanduel racing app in the beginning. Or at least made it a one click option to move your account rather than creating a new one.

There are many alternatives to Fanduel Racing. Twin Spires, NYRA Bets, and 1st Bet (just to name a few). I have an on-track account with 1st Bet, which I could upgrade to a full account. This would allow me to make wagers off-site and could be my new preferred wagering app. They have good enough handicapping tools, plus I do most of my handicapping outside of a wagering app. I may keep my TVG account so I can watch Fanduel TV on my big screen, until they decide to end TVG. Or I could just go to the local horse track and stop wasting money wagering online.
