Earlier this month (October), I decided to visit the local Indian casino to see what had changed since my last visit. The last time I was in a casino was in late 2019, before the pandemic hit. The first difference was the facial temperature scanner that you have to pass before you can enter. Once inside, I noticed that every other slot machine was turned off. This of course is to allow for social distancing when playing a slot. It was early on a Monday morning, so it wasn’t very crowded. But, I could see where even at 50% capacity, it could be a challenge to find an open slot to play. This casino gave me $20 of free play on my player’s card just to get me back in the door. I split the free play between the “More Chili” and the “More Hearts” machines. Nothing hit on those two and my free play money was quickly gone. Next I sat down at the “Mistress of Egypt” slot.
There is something about an Egyptian themed slot that I can’t resist. I started playing at the $1.20 level. With no other players near me, I felt fairly safe. This machine has a feature where if you get a bonus symbol on all 5 lines, you get 75 free spins. I wasn’t even looking for it, when after only a few spins, the 5 bonus symbols appeared (see photo). It was pretty fun sitting back and watching the wild pyramid symbols drop for some nice payouts. I ended up getting $305.50 (254 X my bet). After that, I cashed out and left the casino. I think I was in and out in under an hour. The casino is typically at full capacity, so I will savor my winnings, and wait until things get a little more back to normal before my next visit.
