I got my first trifecta win, but I can&#8217;t say I was happy with the $8.20 payout. A quarter horse race is a short quarter mile blast down the track, so there isn&#8217;t a lot of time for horses to change position. The favorite usually wins. I found out that even a trifecta win isn&#8217;t going to make you any money. I did better with a $20 exacta win later in the day, but is wasn&#8217;t enough to put me in the green. \u00a0Instead of betting two $5 exactas per race, I decided to play a few trifectas and daily doubles to get some additional coverage.\u00a0I only stayed for 6 races, wagered about $45 and won $28. The track tries to promote the pick 4 a lot.
