The trick is to find the ones that project consistent winners. But in the end, you have to decide which horses to put in your multi-race wager. I sometimes use the websites that are not so good at projecting winners by not including their picks in my wager. One of the more accurate horse racing prediction websites is numberfire.com. They are located in New York and appear to be affiliated with FanDuel. In addition to horse racing projections, they also provide projections for sports betting.

It takes about an hour for me to enter data into a spreadsheet before I can run a ranking macro. Once the data is entered, I just run the macro to get the results. It is an attempt to determine, based on the last three races, which horses have an advantage in the upcoming race. I then have to decide which horses to put in my wager. Because of my limited bankroll, I often have to leave out good horses. As a result, a lost wager is not only money, but also the time wasted entering the data.

By comparing projections from various websites, I can come up with picks much faster. The odds of winning a multi-race wager are about the same and I haven’t wasted valuable time. If you have a TVG account, the numberFire and Trackmaster projections are included in the app. The website only has Trackmaster right now. Other websites I use are: Equibase Smart Picks, TimeForm.com, Racing Dudes, and Guaranteed Tip Sheet. As it turns out, the numberFire and Timeform projections are identical!

Some websites provide one potential winner as a free pick. This makes them less likely to have the winner. Others give you three possible winners and are more likely to have the winner. If everyone is picking the same winner, there is a good chance that the horse will win. If everyone is picking different winners, that is a good time to throw out the favorites and pick some less popular runners. The final move is to look at the race card to make sure you are happy with your picks.

There are a lot of websites that offer projections on which horses might win a race.
