Winning big on the pick 4

On July 12, 2019 a guy in New York won the largest pick 4 payout in Canterbury Park’s history. The winning ticket paid $31,622. It was interesting to read about how this was accomplished, considering how many long shots have to come in to get a payout that large. The winning horses in each race had odds of 6/1, 7/1, 8/1, and 21/1. The amount wagered on this 50 cent pick 4 was $120, which is usually my bankroll for the whole day! The race results chart shows that this was the only winning ticket for the late pick 4 on that day. The pick 5, which had a $24,887 carryover, only paid out $400. Obviously, this guy got lucky, but he isn’t an amateur either. If you read the article in the link above, you will find that he has some good connections in the horse wagering community. Whenever I see one of these big payouts, it’s usually a group or someone like this who rakes it in.
